Who Is Kevin McDugle?

Marine Veteran | Author | Entrepreneur | Leadership & Mindset Coach

Kevin McDugle is a Marine, author, business leader, former Oklahoma State Representative, and a man whose life has been rebuilt by the transforming power of Jesus Christ.

His story is not one of perfection.
It is one of discipline, success, failure, humility, and restoration.

It is the story of a warrior who learned that strength without surrender eventually breaks and that true leadership begins with identity.

United States Marine: 1988–1996

Kevin enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1988, where he would serve for eight years in elite and high-impact roles.

He served as an Airborne Forward Observer with 2nd ANGLICO (Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company)  a specialized unit responsible for coordinating close air support, naval gunfire, and artillery in combat environments. It was a high-stakes role requiring precision, composure, and absolute trust in the team.

During his service, Kevin deployed to:

·       Somalia

·       Bosnia

·       Saudi Arabia during the First Gulf War

He was meritoriously promoted three times, a reflection of leadership performance and exceptional conduct.

Kevin concluded his Marine Corps career as a Marine Drill Instructor at Parris Island, South Carolina, one of the most demanding leadership billets in the military. There, he was responsible for transforming young civilians into United States Marines.

That experience would later become the foundation for his book:

Inside the Mind of a Marine Drill Instructor

(Warning: It is real. It is raw.)

The book offers an unfiltered look into the intensity, discipline, psychology, and responsibility of shaping Marines, and the internal weight carried by those who lead them.   There are quite a few books written about military boot camp but very few are from the perspective of the Drill Instructor.

The Marine Corps shaped Kevin’s discipline.

But it did not yet shape his identity.

Business Leadership & Sales Excellence

After the military, Kevin finished his undergrad degree and MBA and then transitioned into the business world where he built a career in sales, business development, and executive leadership.

Throughout his business career, Kevin has:

·       Led high-performance global sales teams

·       Driven revenue growth and market expansion

·       Built strategic business and political partnerships

·       Developed business development systems and procedures

·       Helped organizations scale with clarity and accountability

His experience spans both entrepreneurial ventures and executive leadership roles, where he became known for combining Marine discipline with strategic business growth systems.

He understands the pressures of:

·       Carrying payroll

·       Driving revenue targets

·       Building proper teams

·       Navigating economic uncertainty

·       Designing residual revenue systems

·       Scaling operations without losing culture

Kevin has experienced both significant success, and painful loss, in business. And that contrast is what makes his leadership today both practical and deeply grounded.

Oklahoma House of Representatives

Kevin later stepped into public service as a Member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, representing his district with a focus on:

·       Conservative fiscal responsibility

·       Pro-business legislation

·       Veteran advocacy

·       Protecting Oklahoma families

·       Strengthening economic opportunity

·       Standing up for the US Constitution

During his time in office, Kevin was known for bringing private-sector understanding into public policy discussions. He approached legislation the same way he approached leadership, mission-focused, people-centered, and values-driven.

His time in elected office further strengthened his understanding of:

·       State-level economic development

·       Regulatory impact on business owners

·       The importance of principled leadership

·       Standing firm under public pressure

·       Relationship business development

·       International relationship development

Leadership in uniform.
Leadership in business.
Leadership in government.

And yet, something was still missing.

Faith: Saved and Yet NOT Surrendered

Kevin was saved at 7 years old. He grew up in church and considered himself a believer most of his life.

But there is a difference between believing in God and walking daily with Him.

For years, Kevin never understood the necessity of being in the Word of God daily. He did not understand the power of scripture to shape identity, correct thinking, and anchor the soul.

When struggles came, including the weight of combat experiences,  he accepted the label of Post-Traumatic Stress as a permanent explanation for everything that went wrong.

That label became an excuse.

Business struggles.
Relational conflict.
Personal decisions.

Eventually, it all caught up to him.

Divorce.
Loss of businesses.
Rock bottom.

And then something unexpected happened.

Mighty Oaks: “You’re Not Broken”

Kevin was “tricked” into attending the Mighty Oaks Foundation, a faith-based organization led by warriors, Marines, Army Rangers, Navy SEALs,  men who had walked the same battlefields and carried similar burdens.

He found his mind going back to the battle field and expected the same, good for nothing, therapy.

Instead, they opened the Word of God.

They said something that changed his life:

“You’re not broken. Here is who God says you are.”  He learned his real identity, the one the creator made for him.

They taught what they call the 4 B’s:

·       Be in the Word

·       Be in Prayer

·       Be in Fellowship

·       Be Accountable

Simple.
Biblical.
Transformational.

For the first time in his life, Kevin developed a daily relationship with Jesus Christ, not religion, not routine, but relationship.

And everything began to change.

Rebuilt by Christ

As Kevin committed to the Word of God daily, his identity shifted.

He was no longer defined by:

·       Combat

·       Titles

·       Political office

·       Business success

·       Failure

·       Or a diagnosis

He was defined by Christ.

God began rebuilding what had been broken:

·       His family

·       His relationships

·       His leadership

·       His purpose

The discipline of the Marine Corps was still there.
The business acumen was still there.
The leadership experience was still there.

But now it was surrendered.

Who Is Kevin Today?

Today, Kevin McDugle is:

·  A Marine who understands the warrior way both in combat and spiritually.

·  A business leader who understands CEOs.

·  A former legislator who understands policy and relationship development.

·  A man restored by Christ who understands grace.

He now dedicates his life to helping leaders avoid the mistakes he made before Jesus became Lord of his life, not just Savior in name, but Lord in authority.

His mission is clear:

To help leaders build strong businesses, strong families, and strong faith, in that order of priority under Christ.

Because success without surrender eventually collapses.

But leadership built on the proper foundation and rooted in the proper identity lasts.  The spiritual tools learned can take a leaders heart, and expand it for the purpose you were created.  Those same spiritual tools can take a business and turn it into a revenue generating ministry that can supply all your needs according to His riches in Glory.

Mission: We equip Christian CEOs & owners to build great businesses for a greater purpose.

Vision: To change the world by advancing the gospel in the marketplace.
